Valentines on the cheap.

What is valentines day? What does it mean to you? What do you do on valentines day? What ever your plans make it plastic and waste free.

We use valentines day to say I love you to loved ones, partners family and friends to say they are special and loved. I don’t believe that it should be left up to one day of the year to show how much the people in are life mean to us. Everyday is the time to show and say you are important and loved.

There are many things you can do for valentines day that doesn’t involve a lot of money or plastic. Make handmade cards, and decorations out of paper you can make handmade gifts, make fun cocktails, spend the day together there is nothing simpler to say that you are loved then spending time with your loved ones, even if it’s standing at the sick washing pots. Some times it’s the little things that matter most.

Make a meal make the room and table nice with heart garlands and candles. Check out my shop for ideas for candles and if a couple with kids eat late when the kids are sleeping pretend you are out and decorate the room have music playing in the background, dress up have dessert like rose decorated cupcakes.

Have a film night or afternoon make it different by making pink popcorn and pink drinks, have chocolate. But lets stay away from plastic.

Remember you don’t need one day out of the year to tell someone that you love them, tell them everyday. To made someone feel special it just takes 3 little words I LOVE YOU let them know that they are important everyday of the year. Make paper flowers buy plants they last longer.

Time, are time is important you create memories with time. Do things that you will remember forever, just don’t look at your phone. Here is an idea time vouchers for a gift. Cut hearts out of coloured paper and write your activities ideas down for your important person to use. You can even make a card out of mini hearts with what you love most about your valentines written on them.

Day out take a walk together and remember to hold hands.

Food chocolate strawberries and pretzels bread sticks with chocolate or icing. Cook your favourite meal and enjoy a treat that you normally wouldn’t do.

Remember valentines day is one day out of 365 why not do valentines everyday.
